Quantum-Systems is at the forefront of autonomous, AI-powered aerial robotics globally. Our Australian subsidiary, Quantum-Systems Australia, operates in the Defence, Security, and Commercial markets, specialising in Uncrewed Aerial Vehicles (UAS) in the Asia-Pacific region.
Summary:
The Business Development Specialist is responsible for supporting the growth of Quantum-Systems’ market presence by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building client relationships, and assisting in the delivery of tailored commercial solutions. This role focuses on contributing to revenue growth through proactive lead generation, market research, and client engagement while ensuring alignment with company strategies. The Business Development Specialist works closely with the Business Development Manager to prepare proposals, support negotiations, and coordinate with internal teams to deliver high-quality outcomes for clients and stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within the APAC region.
- Support the preparation of tailored business strategies under the direction of senior staff.
- Contribute to the preparation of presentations, proposals, and bids to secure new contracts.
- Represent Quantum-Systems at trade shows, conferences, and networking events under guidance from senior business development staff.
- Provide input to product development teams based on customer and market feedback.
- Prepare regular reports on lead generation, client engagement, and pipeline status for senior management review.
- Support project coordination tasks as required to meet client expectations.
- Coordinate with marketing to align outreach and promotional activities.
- Gather and maintain market intelligence on competitors, customer needs, and industry trends.
Qualifications & Experience:
Required:
- Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Business, or related field, or substantial relevant experience.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Business Development, sales or account management, preferably within the defence, government, or commercial sectors.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Familiarity in preparing client-facing documents such as proposals, presentations, and reports.
- Technical understanding or experience with UAS, AI, robotics, or adjacent domains (bonus).
- Note: A Defence security clearance is required for this role, so your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this position.
