Sales Manager - Capital Equipment

I am partnering with a world-leading supplier of automated plants, equipment, and services that cross a multitude of industry sectors globally. This position will be focused specifically on the mineral and resources sector in the APAC region.


We are looking for a resourceful and enthusiastic Sales Manager – Capital Equipment to join our small team.


Your main objective will be to develop new and existing business through sales and marketing initiatives to achieve revenue and continued growth in line with the overall business strategy.


The day-to-day operations will include the following:  

  • Develop new accounts to meet sales targets through effective technical sales of engineering services, capital equipment (new and replacement) & parts throughout APAC.
  • The promotion of new technologies, and/or replacement or modernisation of machinery and parts.
  • Identify opportunities throughout APAC to replace competitor machinery & plants.
  • Respond to requests for sales opportunities through the development of proposals including bid formulation, reviews, approvals, and submission, in consultation with key stakeholders.
  • Post proposal submission, assist with contract negotiations, report on bid progress, and ultimately, transition successful bids into implementation – all in consultation with relevant parties.
  • Key account management of defined customers throughout APAC.
  • Prepare reports about opportunities identified.


The candidate:  

  • Engineering/Science Degree or Relevant experience with Trade Education
  • Mechanical/Industrial Engineering background
  • Working knowledge of machinery and processes in the processing & production environment
  • Experience in Capital Equipment Sales in a comparable Heavy Industrial environment i.e. Mining or Water Treatment.
  • Demonstrable sales experience in a business-to-business situation
  • Proven experience working to performance and achievement KPIs


Technical competencies and skillset:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Intermediate skills in Word and Excel.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to effectively multi-task and prioritise to achieve outcomes.
  • Knowledge of CRM and SAP.
  • The ability to work effectively both autonomously and as a team player.
