As a Sales Engineer, your role encompasses a variety of tasks, including providing technical sales support, leading pre-tender negotiations, and managing contracts while ensuring timely delivery of projects. You will utilise your mechanical and electrical expertise to deliver tailored solutions across diverse industries, including power transmission, mining, defence, medical, construction, and manufacturing.
You will work closely with various stakeholders, promoting the company’s unique range of products and services, and ensuring that customer requirements are met with the highest standards of service.

Responsibilities include:
- Expanding the client base by identifying new customers while maintaining and nurturing existing relationships.
- Providing technical sales support and advice in various industries.
- Leading pre-tender/tender negotiations and managing contracts, project timelines, and budgets.
- Offering hands-on commissioning and technical support during projects.
- Generating technical calculations and selecting appropriate products that meet customers’ requirements.
- Communicating clearly throughout the sales cycle, ensuring all commercial, contractual, and technical details are addressed.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to promote brand loyalty.
- Assembling comprehensive project documentation, including quotations, orders, and post-sale manuals.
- Managing documentation and communications using PC software such as Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Interstate and local travel based on business needs.
Essential Criteria:
- Multiple years of experience in a sales engineer role.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- High level of mechanical and electrical experience and knowledge.
- Proven ability to grow a client base and maintain strong business relationships.
- Extensive experience in the mechanical and electrical sectors, particularly in power transmission, mining, defence, medical, construction, and manufacturing.
- Experience with pre-tender/tender negotiations, contract management, and hands-on commissioning.
- Strong technical proficiency in generating calculations and selecting appropriate products.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively manage customer relations throughout the sales cycle.
- Proficiency in using standard PC software, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Willingness and availability for interstate/domestic travel.
