General Manager (Operations, Sales and Marketing)

This is a great opportunity for a self-motivated, General Manager who has experience in business development marketing/sales and will take a hands-on approach when managing the necessary day to day operations of the company.

CANETEC is a well-established successful Australian owned and operated company based in Bundaberg. CANETEC provides a diverse range of manufacturing and engineering services predominately for the agricultural sector. 

About the position

The key focus of this permanent full-time position is marketing/sales as well as the responsibility for managing the day to day operations. This position is a vital conduit for the company’s international and domestic customers, suppliers and for production purposes.

The General Manager reports directly to the Board and the key responsibilities of the role include (but not limited to):

  • Business planning (liaising with and reporting to key stakeholders)
  • Sales/Marketing (business development and engaging and liaising with a broad range of customers)
  • HR management (leading and managing a team to develop plans for achieving design and production targets)
  • Financial reporting
  • Work health and safety compliance

About you

You will have a strong engineering/mechanical background with a ‘hands on’ approach. You will also have the energy and drive to meet the business challenges of today and in the future.

To be considered for this role you will satisfy the following key selection criteria:

  1. Minimum 5 years' experience in engineering production management or a similar role
  2. Degree qualifications in Business, Marketing and or Engineering (Highly desirable)
  3. Demonstrated computer literacy with Microsoft programs/applications
  4. Demonstrated analytical skills
  5. A high degree of commercial acumen demonstrated by your skills, ability and success with meeting strategic business objectives in a similar role (to include but not limited):
  • Effective management of the day to day operations of a dynamic business
  • Achieving budget and sales/performance targets set
  • Effective implementation of change as required to meet customer and business demands
  • Engaging with and reporting to key stakeholders
  • Lead, manage and work successfully with a team to complete/deliver projects within agreed time frames
  • Effective communication across all levels
