The Business Development Manager is the primary customer interface responsible for the development of new business and new relationships in pursuit of growth. Establishing and owning the plans and strategies aimed at serving and expanding the customer sales base in your assigned area is paramount. You will drive sales through your understanding of the target customer’s business, drivers and organisation, as well as partner with potential customers, establishing relationships & maximising the business potential for both parties.
Develop new customer relationships by calling at all levels of target customer organisations, engaging early in the customer buying process to discover customer needs and/or influence customer specification prior to bid
Continuously identify new sales opportunities and focus on providing consultative support by building value propositions for the customer
Engage technical buyers, economic buyers, and relationship buyers; engage customers at all levels in any organisation including executive level decision makers
Profitable growth and focus on new customers and new opportunities.
Ability to create/seek out and assess new opportunities
Ability to establish and build credibility
Strong ability to develop and sustain customer relationships
Able to clearly articulate value and demonstrate how solutions map to a customers’ needs
Demonstrates a well-developed sense of the industry and market trends in their given geography

Tertiary qualified (trade or degree) in a business or engineering related discipline
Required Licenses, Accreditations / clearances / statutory requirements
Obtain/maintain Security Industry Association Licence. Application can be made post start date.
3-7 years of business to business selling experience
Customer engagement at senior levels; proven experience prospecting for opportunities
Industry expertise and experience is preferable
Demonstrated previous customer acquisition experience
Additional 8 years’ experience required in lieu of 4 year college degree.
This role would ideally suit someone from the building controls industries who is familiar selling security systems within the construction industry. Specifically, HVAC automation systems. Another preference would be someone who is currently selling ICT or IT systems into the construction industry.
