Amiga Engineering is a family owned Australian company established by Michael and Dale Bourchier in 1988; the Managing Director is Michael Bourchier and 15 staff are employed, including the MD, 6 office staff and 8 factory staff.

The company has three business lines:

  • General engineering and production CNC machining service
  • Manufacturer and supplier of Genat & Wood industrial gearbox solutions
  • Manufacturer of 3D printed metal products

About the role

The Role

The organization requires the services of an experienced Business Development Manager to drive sales, distribution and customer development of 3D printed metal products as the immediate priority.

In addition, the BDM will play a key role in working with the management team to assist with implementation of the company's growth and re-positioning strategy. This position will then have prime responsibility for implementing the strategy via the development of sales plans and overall management of the sales and marketing function to achieve budgeted sales and revenue targets.

Key Responsibilities

In this role you will be reporting to the Managing Director and be responsible for:

  • In conjunction with the management team, development of the company's repositioning strategy with specific near term and medium term deliverables
  • Achievement of budgeted sales, revenue and growth targets, with a focus on increasing sales in the 3D metal printing business line
  • Building and nurturing client relationships by understanding and exploring client business needs via a key account management system
  • Pro-actively identifying new and different business opportunities; products, sales prospects, and distribution channels to increase revenue
  • Preparation of accurate and timely monthly sales reports and tracking progress versus budget

 

Requirements

To be successful you must have 5-10 years experience in a sales management and / or business development role in engineering, production and machining industries as well as being able to demonstrate the following:

  • Proven track record of increasing sales and revenue through personal generation of leads, winning new business, and development of distribution channels
  • Prior experience in the industries related to or involving machining, toolmaking, manufacturing production and engineering desirable
  • Technically apt at talking to designers and engineers at their level a must
  • Tertiary Studies in Sales and Marketing well regarded
