Base Criteria

Tertiary qualification in Business Management, Marketing or Electrical / Electronic Engineering with over 10 years experience working within the Engineering / Technical Services, Local Government or Consultancy Sectors, and at least 5 years as a Business Development Manager ideally selling services to Local Government.

Outline Duties

Leading the business development activities, sourcing new business leads, driving client relationships, securing EOI and ITT with key Local Government organisations, along with strong networking and marketing skills.

In driving bid proposals ensuring that best practice Service Solutions can be implemented, initial stakeholder engagement fully undertaken gaining a thorough understanding of their wants, needs and commercial restrictions along with clarity around delivery expectations.

Credible business developer who can effectively and efficiently secure business opportunities while working within Local Government Probity guidelines.

Skills and Attributes

Direct leadership, management and coordination of all aspects relating to the sourcing of new business opportunities, EOI Registration, Tender review, and existing client engagement and retention

Prior experience selling Engineering Services, Maintenance Services, Minor Works and Repair to Local Government.

Formulate plans with regards proposing the delivery of Technical Services Contracts that include planned, preventative and reactive maintenance and design activities for Local Government Infrastructure.

Gain a strong understanding of the clients key drivers, desires and disillusionment with current providers.

Provide regular reporting and correspondence with all stakeholders.

Prior experience working within a major Professional Services Consultancy, Engineering Service Provider or related industry across the Local and State Government sectors.

A credible and ethical business development / sales leader who can correctly assess and determine client needs and wants and offer solutions that are deliverable!
