Job Purpose

This newly created national role is responsible for leading national sales and marketing initiatives, engaging key stakeholders, and supporting branch-based Business Development Managers to drive revenue and increase market presence. The role is crucial to expanding the organisation’s industry footprint, strengthening client relationships and delivering growth expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a national business development strategy aligned with the company’s growth objectives.
• Lead and mentor Business Development Managers.
• Establish and track national sales targets, ensuring sustainable revenue growth.
• Identify, evaluate and report on new market opportunities, key industry trends, and emerging sectors for expansion.
• Oversee national marketing campaigns, ensuring they align with business objectives.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key clients, financiers, developers, and industry influencers.
• Drive client acquisition and retention initiatives.
• Represent the organisation at industry events, networking functions, and corporate engagements.
• Efficiently manage business development budgets and resources.

Qualifications and Competencies

• 10 years + proven experience in a national or senior business development role
• Experience within commercial construction or a related industry is essential.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications preferred, i.e. Bachelor of Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Experience in CRM systems (HubSpot or equivalent) for sales tracking and reporting.
• Proven leadership skills, including mentoring and guiding business development teams.
• Excellent negotiation and influencing skills in securing new business and strengthening client relationships.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience in sales forecasting, budgeting, and performance monitoring.
• Understanding estimating and tendering process with a proven ability to “win” competitive tenders
